Learn about the eligibility requirements for SNAP, which provides financial assistance to low-income individuals to help them buy food.
About the Event
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the nation’s largest anti-hunger program and a lifeline for millions of people, including adults ages 50 and older, who are at risk for food insecurity. It provides financial assistance to low-income individuals and families to help buy the food they need. The program is linked to improved health outcomes, including reduced hospitalizations, among low-income older adults.
AARP Virginia hosts Monica Kelley, Public Benefits Outreach Program Manager to discuss how SNAP works and how individuals can check eligibility. This webinar seeks to dispel misunderstandings about the program and shine light on the process. Participants are welcome to bring questions, which will be answered at the end of the webinar.
