Join our social gatherings known as “LGBT Quesdays” to mingle and share with LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages and backgrounds.
About the Event
In collaboration with The Generations Project, AARP Oregon presents a monthly virtual social gathering to connect people in the LGBTQ+ community and allies, using writing and discussion prompts. Topics vary from the light and humorous to the personal, allowing participants to find a subject they find easy to write or talk about.
The June conversation topic is Aunthenticy at Any Age. Guest storyteller Stan Arola-Johnson, founder and president of the non-profit We Are You Campaign, who will share about pursuing his truth and transitioning later in life. Creative writing and discussion prompts will revolve around identity and free self-expression.
Between each writing period, group conversation is guided by facilitators from The Generation Project, which cultivates intergenerational community across ages, classes and sexual and gender identities and preserves LGBTQ+ history through oral story sharing. No writing experience is necessary.
