Loneliness is real for older adults in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community—but often hidden. Let’s talk about how to recognize it and reconnect with those we love.
About the Event
Loneliness and isolation affect many older adults in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, yet these experiences often go unspoken.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the difference between solitude and loneliness, why these feelings can be hard to recognize and how cultural values may influence how they show up.
Led with care and cultural awareness, this session will help participants identify signs of emotional withdrawal that may impact health and offer practical tools to reengage loved ones. We’ll also discuss when professional support might be needed and share simple, meaningful ways families and friends can foster connection.
Participants will leave with:
- Greater awareness of how loneliness manifests in AAPI elders
- Conversation starters to approach loved ones with compassion
- Strategies to build emotional and physical well-being through connection
Let’s open the conversation—and strengthen the ties that hold us together.
