This session will help you understand your feelings and cope with your loss through six crucial steps to understanding and managing your grief journey.
About the Event
After a significant loss, it’s common to feel like we’re going crazy. We’re in shock and disoriented, and time seems out of whack. Our moods swing wildly. Experiencing loss can feel overwhelming, but it's important to recognize that these feelings are a natural part of grief. During this webinar, we’ll examine six steps for surviving loss:
- Know that your intense grief is normal and necessary
- Do whatever you need to do to feel safe and comfortable
- Acknowledge the illusion of having control
- Tell your story
- Embrace your spirituality
- Step toward truly living even as you grieve
The discussion is based on “You’re Not Crazy – You Are Grieving: The Six Steps for Surviving Loss” by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D., director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition and a member of the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
