AARP Hearing Center
Join our social gatherings known as “LGBT Quesdays” to mingle and share with LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages and backgrounds.
About the Event
In collaboration with The Generations Project, AARP Oregon presents a monthly virtual social gathering to connect people in the LGBTQ+ community and allies, using writing and discussion prompts. Topics vary from the light and humorous to the personal, allowing participants to find a subject they find easy to write or talk about.
This August, our guest storyteller will be Grete Miller (she/they). Miller is a documentarian, archival storyteller & LGBTQ+ activist, known for her work with the early lesbian activist Kay Lahusen. Working at the intersection of product, media and advocacy, she's committed to influencing positive change for people, policy and products in her work at Shutterstock and beyond.
Between each writing period, group conversation is guided by facilitators from The Generation Project, which cultivates intergenerational community across ages, classes and sexual and gender identities and preserves LGBTQ+ history through oral story sharing. No writing experience is necessary.
