AARP Hearing Center
Discover how walkable cities and communities promote health, safety and connection. Learn why walkability is key to thriving neighborhoods and how to achieve it.
About the Event
Join us to explore how walkability can be a powerful tool for improving community health and how a “walk audit” can help communities create safer, more walkable neighborhoods.
We've teamed up with WalkMassachusetts to explore tools and strategies communities can use to improve walkability by evaluating street safety, accessibility and the overall pedestrian experience. Walk audits help identify barriers to physical activity and pedestrian mobility, highlight opportunities to cultivate healthier, more connected neighborhoods, and can help citizens and community planners make the case for safer, more welcoming streets for everyone.
Whether you're an advocate, interested resident or municipal leader, this session will give you the knowledge to use walk audits as a catalyst for lasting, community-driven improvement.
