This session in our series with MD Anderson covers what Black women need to know about breast cancer and how lifestyle choices can aid in prevention.
About the Event
Often, it’s the little things we do that have a powerful, transformative impact - like our daily habits. AARP Houston is partnering with one of the world's most respected medical centers, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, to present a monthly series of virtual information-filled sessions, through June, offering tips on disease prevention.
This session, Breaking Down Barriers: What Black Women Should Know About Breast Cancer, will explore the differences in the way breast cancer affects Black women. Find out how to reduce the risk of breast cancer by paying attention to the many lifestyle factors – from body weight and alcohol consumption to breastfeeding and screening choices – that can play a role in prevention.
