About the Event
A brilliant and charismatic physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer became one of America’s best-known scientists for his work leading to the creation of the atomic bomb at Los Alamos. A highly controversial figure, Oppenheimer got caught up in the politics of 1940s and 50s nuclear weapons policy.
Dan Sherman, a retired Ph.D. economist will discuss the career and personality of this fascinating but flawed individual. This online program is offered by the Lifetime Learning Institute of Northern Virginia, affiliated with Northern Virginia Community College.
