We'll explore ways to overcome our emotional resistance to asking for help.
About the Event
Join AARP New York’s classes on preparing to navigate aging’s dance of independence, dependence and interdependence with grace and continued growth.
Facilitated by a Sage-ing® Mentor experienced in the art of drawing upon the wisdom that comes with age, this series of 90-minute sessions will explore such topics as coming to terms with our losses, overcoming our resistance to accepting help and strengthening our support networks.
This third session will help participants examine the emotional challenges of asking for help. Together, we’ll:
- Consider our relationships to solitude and to community
- Identify our social and support networks
- Practice gratitude and explore the need for forgiveness of self and others
- Ponder the legacy we hope to leave
