Get tips on how to avoid falls, a leading cause of injury and death among older adults.
About the Event
An aging body means that while a fall in your 40s may result in a non-injury, the outcome can be severe in your 70s or 80s. Preventing falls among older adults is a life-saving strategy, in fact.
And falls often can be prevented. Join Ann Church and Maria Francis for a workshop designed to help ease participants’ fear of falling and encourage increased activity to improve strength, balance and stability. It will focus on:
- The importance of an exercise routine
- The importance of speaking up and being assertive
- A review of medications, hearing and vision issues
- Positive interactions with healthcare providers and family
- Modifications to make a home safer
