Description:
We'll explore the history and origins of Folk Music in America, guided by musician and educator Barry Wiesenfeld.
About the Event
American folk music is one of the strongest musical voices of our country. Over the centuries - even before we were a country - it has expressed the feelings of the people, the causes we believe in, and those aspects of life that we, the “folk”, are invested in. It is a musical snapshot of our history. We’ll look at its origins, focuses, personalities, and how much it means to us.
