This three-part virtual series for caregivers is aimed at increasing strength, flexibility, mobility and mindfulness and helping to prevent injury and burnout.
About the Event
Caring for someone with dementia or physical disabilities can take a toll on your health and emotions. AARP Colorado’s three-part Wellness for Caregivers series, led by certified fitness instructor and nutrition counselor Sue Kartheiser, will provide tips and exercises to help caregivers stay strong, mobile and mindful. The goal is to prevent injuries and ease stress that could lead to burnout and disease.
Session One: Strength and Balance will teach you how to perform strength and balance exercises and why, focusing on proper mechanics. The exercises can help you develop muscle strength required for duties such as transfers, bathing, feeding and dressing your loved one. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
