This three-part virtual series for caregivers is aimed at increasing strength, flexibility, mobility and mindfulness and helping to prevent injury and burnout.
About the Event
Caring for someone with dementia or physical disabilities can take a toll on your health and emotions. AARP Colorado’s three-part Wellness for Caregivers series, led by certified fitness instructor and nutrition counselor Sue Kartheiser, will provide tips and exercises to help caregivers stay strong, mobile and mindful. The goal is to prevent injuries and ease stress that could lead to burnout and disease.
Session Three: Mindfulness will teach caregivers how to use a variety of mindfulness exercises as needed to reduce stress and increase feelings of calm, energy and wellness. The exercises will include breathing techniques, simple meditations and journaling.
