This online seated yoga class will help people of varied abilities gradually increase their strength, flexibility and mobility.
About the Event
This virtual adaptive yoga class is designed for people of varied abilities and is performed seated or using a chair for support. Some standing and on-the-floor poses are incorporated as well, with modifications and chair-based alternatives as necessary. We use hand weights in a few poses to build strength, and mindfulness, meditation and breathing (pranayama) are integral to the practice.
This workout can help you gradually build strength and become more flexible and mobile. Props you may want to have handy: a folding chair or a chair without arms, one or two 4“ x 6“ x 9“ inch yoga blocks or a rolled bath towel or a yoga blanket, an 8’ or 10’ yoga strap with a D-buckle. Please consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
Instructor Barbara Deurwaarder is a 500 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), meaning she has 500 hours of training as a teacher.
