The Warren County Historical Society, Inc. is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization with headquarters located within the historic district in the county seat of Belvidere, New Jersey.The Society was founded on the premise to preserve the history of WarrenCounty and protect its historic sites from all types of encroachments. Its mission is to promote the collection,preservation and dissemination of that history, as simply stated, "to preserve things of historical interest and place same on exhibition, to publish historical articles, to acquire, mark and care for places or things of historical interest...".

In keeping with that mission, the Society, also known as the Warren County Historical and Genealogical Society, acts as a repository for historic, cultural and archival data and artifacts from prehistoric times until the present. It maintains a museum for the exhibition of county artifacts and memorabilia as well as a resource center (library) for public education and research, including genealogy.
