Get moving and have some fun as you learn the basic jig and reel while improving your balance, stability, coordination and brain health.
About the Event
Our two-part series on Irish step dancing will get you moving and having fun as you learn the steps of the basic jig and reel. These lessons for beginners are taught by Diana Minnix, who started training at the Northern Virginia school, Aiobhneas En Rince, when she was 11 years old. She competed until going to college and returned to Irish dance at the New York Studio of Irish Step Dance in 2021.
Irish step dancing can help improve your balance, stability and coordination, and because it’s a challenge both physically and mentally, it’s good for your brain, too. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
Lesson 2 will take place on April 1.
