About Us:

Urban Edge Properties acquired Sunrise Mall in 2021 from Unibail-Rodamco-Westifeld in partnership with Sagamore Hill Partners, an owner-operator affiliate of RIPCO Real Estate, and JG Petrucci. Urban Edge is a NYSE listed real estate investment trust focused on managing, acquiring, developing, and redeveloping retail real estate in communities, primarily in the New York metropolitan region, and serves as the managing member of the partnership with an 82.5% interest. The company currently owns 76 properties totaling 17.2 million square feet of gross leasable area.

As lease agreements with interior mall stores continue to expire, Urban Edge Properties is poised to evaluate options for the redevelopment of Sunrise Mall. In a real estate market and economy that are facing challenges, we are taking a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to the analysis of a retail property that has clearly come to the end of its current mission. The process requires time as we seek to determine how best to add depth to the town’s economy, be consistent with acceptable land use, and generate meaningful jobs. In the interim, we are continuing to maintain and secure the property as retail tenants depart.
