About Us:
South Metro Land Conservancy is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to acquire or preserve open space lands to enhance the quality of life of present and future generations.
South Metro Land Conservancy (SMLC) was formed in 1993 by
a group of citizens concerned with the rapid loss of open space in the south metro area. This group was the infamous ******* Hill Gang formed to preserve the top of ******* Hill off of Prince Street in Littleton. SMLC received 501 (c) (3) status in 1994 and
that same year made buffering South Platte Park a priority.
