Cycle Thursdays are back and better than ever! Cycling can be a great low impact exercise to keep our bodies moving. Join AARPCO’s New 50+ Ambassadors for Cycle Thursdays, casual fun bike rides around Denver.
Our next ride is on Thursday, June 6, when we take a combination road/trail ride. We will meet at our usual Denver South High School parking lot location at 9:30 a.m. and begin our ride at Wash Park, coming out the northside, and proceed north on Marion Parkway to Speer Blvd and dropping down onto the Cherry Creek Trail. We will take the trail through downtown to Confluence Park, stop for rest, coffee and conversation at the REI/Starbucks before retracing the route back to Washington Park. We will discuss safety and trail etiquette prior to wheels down.
AARP realizes that healthy habits, including exercise and eating right, can lead to a better, longer, happier life. Are you new to cycling? Or maybe just getting back into cycling or maybe you ride daily? Wherever you are at, Cycle Thursdays has something for everyone!. Come join like-minded folks, get a good ride in and have some fun!
Please bring a helmet, water, sunscreen and make sure your bike is safe to ride. Remember this is a ride, not a race. No one will be left behind. Ride as much or as little as you are comfortable.
AARP Colorado believes the best years begin at 50 and we are out to prove it with our program, The New 50+, “It’s a Mindset” that says, “We’re better than ever.” So many older adults are taking the time to learn new things, and they know the importance of life balance, making sure that leisure and fun are significant parts of their healthy lifestyle. In that lively spirit, we welcome you to enjoy Cycle Thursdays.
