Open: Year-Round
Throughout the course of human history, people have had a strong connection to the land. It has only been recently that our families and towns have struggled to keep that connection intact. Today, more and more people are joining together to illustrate that a food system can be environmentally friendly, financially sustainable, and ethically just for everyone involved.
The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Program is a special relationship that a farmer, or a group of farmers, engages in with his or her local consumers. In a typical CSA Program, members of the community sign up in advance for a "share" of all the fruits, vegetables, and flowers that a farmer will produce in a given season. Members must renew their CSA membership for each season, and must pay in advance for their share. Generally, members must commit to receiving weekly shares, and there is little flexibility in regards to the items they receive in their share. Members usually must pick up their share from a designated pick-up location.
The Skarsgard Farms CSA Program is different. By working within a network of certified Organic regional growers, we are able to operate our CSA Program on a year-round basis. You will ALWAYS have access to the freshest fruits and vegetables available, even those that do not grow well here in our New Mexico climate.
