No one really recalls how the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair earned its lighthearted moniker - “The Sunshine Fair” but it is a name fitting to both the people and the locale of this 142nd  year old Agricultural Exposition.  The inspiring scenery of tree-lined mountains rising on all sides, the carefully manicured half mile race track, along with its many historical buildings and the friendly and dedicated volunteer staff have all made the Sunshine Fair one of the favorite annual stops during the New York fair season.  The facilities comprise of approximately 20 buildings with a 3,000 seat grandstand, covered stage, 240’ x 120’ covered horse arena, outdoor horse show arena, stabling for nearly 140 horses, along with on and off grounds parking.  The office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm excluding legal holidays year around.
