Russell Public Library

9 Pestle Street
Russell, NY 13684

315-347-2115

On August 4, 1981 the Russell Public Library opened its doors to the residents of Russell, fullfilling a long anticipated dream of several of our townspeople.

The Library is in the process of moving to 24 Pestle Street (the old Catholic Church) and the move should be completed in the near future. We obtained a grant from Senator Wright for $15,000 and a grant from Dede Scozzafava for $5,000 and we are waiting to hear from the North Country Library System on a matching grant we applied for. A Common Room and a Museum are being built on the back side of the building. We hope the community will appreciate the extra space we will have when the work is completed.
