About Us

The Oakwood Public Library District is a full-service public library located in the heart of Central Illinois. Built in 1997, our facility serves a population of over 7,000 and houses a collection of 15,000 volumes.

The Oakwood Public Library District builds a community of readers with collections, services and staff who encourage children and adults to read for learning and enjoyment.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide a welcoming helpful place for people of all ages to enjoy the world of information and to support lifelong learning.
