Mission

The Norwich Arts Council was formed in 1987 (originally as the Norwich Arts Council) to cultivate the region’s appreciation, understanding, and enjoyment of the arts by providing affordable cultural enrichment through diverse visual, literary, and performing arts programs and events.

Goals

-To provide cultural enrichment to its service region through a diverse selection of artistic programming.
-To increase the number and diversity of cultural activities in our communities and to broadly publicize them.
-To foster an appreciation for the work of local and regional artists and provide opportunities for them to present their work.
-To involve the youth of the community in the arts and stimulate and encourage development of their creativity.
-To cultivate development of the Chelsea Arts District.
-To be a regional resource for the arts.
