The Halifax County Library System includes the headquarters in Halifax, branch libraries in Weldon, Littleton and Scotland Neck, as well as a bookmobile. Traditional services such as circulating books, magazines, audiobooks and videotapes are offered at each library. Public access to the Internet and CD-ROM technology is also offered at each library. In addition, the headquarters library contains an extensive genealogy and local history collection. The library hosts a number of activities and programs all designed to encourage reading and learning for everyone. Some of the activities offered are storyhours, summer reading clubs, Quiz Bowl, Battle of the Books, and the annual Storytelling Festival.
