Our five-week series of restorative yoga classes features a style of yoga that encourages physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
About the Event
Restorative yoga is a style of yoga fostering physical, mental and emotional relaxation that is appropriate for all levels. Certified yoga instructor Denise Dohanic will lead us each Wednesday evening from April 24 through May 22.
Restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace and features long holds, stillness and deep breathing. Props such as a folded blanket, bolster or cushion and blocks may be helpful.
This type of practice:
- Enhances flexibility
- Deeply relaxes the body
- Softens and surrenders the “monkey mind”
- Soothes the nervous system
- Encourages mindfulness
- Helps foster compassion toward oneself and others
Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
