Black Sheep Winery is located in the Gold Rush town of Murphys, California in Calaveras County in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Murphys, with its historic, tree-lined Main Street is a 2 1/2 hour drive east from most locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Black Sheep Winery opened in 1984, featuring small releases of wine handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras, and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels, but also producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and a second label we call True Frogs Lily Pad Wines.
