Virtual Women's Health Conference Highlights Living A Full Life Over The Years

AARP Mississippi observes Women’s History Month by presenting a virtual discussion about women’s health at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25. Leading experts will address a variety of women's health issues experienced through all life stages. This one-hour conversation has been carefully designed to acknowledge the ongoing research on women's aging, physical health and mental health.

The panelists are: Dr. Geraldine Hill-Chance, Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center; Dr. Sara Sanders, formerly UMMC Mind Center, now with Baptist Premiere Medical Group; and Chelsea Crittle, Ph.D, Director of Aging Programs with Central Mississippi Planning and Development District/Area Agency on Aging.

Dr. Gerri L Hill-Chance is a Psychiatry Specialist in Hazelhurst. She graduated with honors from Meharry Medical College in 1985. Having over 37 years of diverse experiences, especially in Psychiatry, Dr. Hill-Chance is also affiliated with King’s Daughters Medical Center Clinics, LLC.

Chelsea Crittle, Ph.D., is the Director of Aging Programs with Central Mississippi Planning and Development District/Area Agency on Aging, which provides services to older adults so they will be able to remain independent and live in their own homes as long as possible. Employed with Central Mississippi Planning and Development District for the past 22 years, Dr. Crittle oversees home and community-based services on behalf of the 60-plus population.

Dr. Sara S. Sanders is a Geriatrician in Jackson. She is affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Geriatricians specialize in the unique health needs of the elderly, including chronic diseases, nutritional problems, skin ailments, cognitive loss, memory impairment, adverse effects of medications, immobility and balance issues.
