Looking for an affordable evening out enjoying the performing arts?
AARP on Long Island is kicking off another season of Broadway on Main Street at the John W. Engeman Theater, 250 Main St., in Northport.
AARP members and their guests can purchase tickets at 20 percent off for select performances of musicals and plays during the 2019 season.
Tickets are now available for Aida—the epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal—at evening shows on Sunday, May 19; Wednesday, May 22; and Sunday, May 26.
Additional productions scheduled for this season include Saturday Night Fever, Sunset Boulevard and Matilda.
“This is a great opportunity for people to discover the arts in their own backyard,” said Bernard Macias, AARP New York associate state director for Long Island.
The Engeman Theater offers an assisted-listening system—free wireless headsets that are provided at all performances. Wheelchair and companion seating are also available.
Attendees can sign up for AARP’s free Fraud Watch Network, which helps consumers protect themselves against identity theft and scams.
