Policies to lower prescription drug prices, help family caregivers, improve financial security for retirees and promote aging in place will be among AARP Kentucky’s top advocacy priorities when the state General Assembly returns on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
During the 30-day legislative session, AARP Kentucky’s Executive Council and local volunteers will mobilize to monitor lawmakers’ actions. In February, the AARP Lobby Day in the Capitol will give volunteers a chance to attend committee hearings and have one-on-one meetings with their elected leaders.
AARP is always looking for more volunteers to advocate for legislation that will improve the lives of Kentuckians 50-plus. Email kyaarp@aarp.org or call 866-295-7275 to learn more.
