Fight Fraud by Shredding Sensitive Documents

Posted on 03/31/23 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP North Dakota will offer free document shredding in three locations across the state this month.

The drive-through disposal service will be in Bismarck on Saturday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to noon; and in Fargo and Grand Forks on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Shredding is one way to protect against identity theft by safely disposing of documents with personal information such as Social Security numbers. The service is being offered after tax season, when people may no longer need some papers.

The service is free, but there is a two-box limit. Registration is strongly encouraged. Go to aarp.org/nd and click on Events.
