Culture And Community Go Hand In Hand.

AARP is thrilled to work with the Chicago Sun-Times to celebrate both with their new Murals & Mosaics series, which highlights the outdoor art that beautifies buildings and walls throughout Chicagoland.

We are excited to see the new Murals and Mosaics Map, an interactive digital showcase of the city’s street art, and to encourage Chicagoans to check out these pieces in person.

And stay tuned, for AARP to put our own mark on Chicago this fall.

Working with community leaders and residents in the Little Village neighborhood, we will transform this wall of Nuevo León, into public art that celebrates community and family -- while honoring ancestors who came before us.

The ¡Celebrando Comunidad! mural will be painted by local artist Elizabeth Reyes, whose gorgeous art wrapped Chicago CTA Pink Line train last year.

“It’s about keeping our culture alive,” said Nuevo Leon Owner Laura Gutierrez Ramos.
