AARP Maine Presents: Understanding Your Electric Bill Workshop

Posted on 07/05/24

AARP Maine continues to fight to keep utility rates fair and reasonable in the state with the country’s oldest population. Rising utility costs coupled with higher housing, food and medicine expenses force many vulnerable, older adults to make tough choices. However, electricity costs are a particular concern and have increased faster than the rate of inflation.

At this virtual workshop, staff members from your AARP Maine office will be joined by representatives from the Office of the Public Advocate and Versant Power to show the full story of electric rates and how they impact you.

On August 22nd from 9-11AM, AARP Maine will hold this virtual workshop intended for Mainers in the Versant Power territory who want to:

  • Hear about AARP Maine's work to advocate for fair and reasonable utility rates and get involved in our efforts in their own communities.
  • Hear from the Office of the Public Advocate on the work they do for electricity customers.
  • Get a full breakdown of your electric bill directly from Versant Power.
  • Find out about programs to help Mainers on low and fixed incomes.

Registration is free but required. Click HERE to register for the August 22nd VIRTUAL workshop, 9-11AM.

If you have any questions, please send an email to me@aarp.org to reach an AARP Maine staff member.
