The Lineup:
STEVE SHAFFER (Headliner), one of the best and cleanest comedians working today, is constantly in demand, headlining hundreds of shows a year at colleges, country clubs, cruise ships and corporate functions. Steve has appeared on dozens of television shows including VH1’s Stand Up Spotlight, Comedy Central’s The A- List, FOX’s Comic Strip Live, Evening at the Improv and the biggest one of all, NBC’s The Tonight Show. In Atlantic City and Las Vegas, Steve is also a staple where he has performed with such noteables as George Carlin, Paul Anka, and The Beach Boys.
JOHN IAVARONE, a Seven Angels Theatre regular, was born in the Bronx and lived there until his mom decided to migrate miles away… (2 to be exact) on to the mean streets of…….. Westchester County. Now, John has his headquarters in “The Heights. Whether it’s an 8 or 38 minute set at a Club, Corporate Function, Private Party or Fundraiser John’s audience describes his hysterically funny set in one word, Honest, Original, Animated! (OK, that was one word, but from three different audiences.) John has appeared at these great venues: Empire City Casino, Mohegan Sun, Dangerfields, Comic Strip Live, Carolines, Stand-Up NY, Wisecrackers, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Bananas, Poconos, Jesters, Knuckleheads, Smithtown Theatre and many more.
RICH FRANCESE is one of America’s premier comedians and a must see. He delivers rapid fire laughs every time out with some of the best written jokes in the industry. Rich is also known as a master of improvisation with his lightning fast crowd work, which keeps the audience in stitches and keeps every show fresh. Whether it is one of many hysterical TV appearances which has included multiple appearances on The View, (where he was brought back for a second appearance faster than any other comedian in the show’s history), Conan, Showtime, Celebrity Apprentice (with you know who), Comedy Central, or writing for Saturday Night Live, where he was a full time staff member and writer for the legendary Colin Quinn, who said, “Rich has one of the greatest minds in popular comedy,” or as a recurring sketch player on Conan O’Brien, (over 100 appearances) Rich is a truly accomplished triple threat.
MICHELLE GOTAY (host) hails from Watertown, CT, and has a comedic style that has yet to be determined (and may change depending on how tonight goes). Michelle has been a part of the Seven Angels Family for 33 years. This past season, she checked off a “bucket-list” role when she played Mae Petersen in BYE BYE BIRDIE. She’s played a variety of comic characters as part of Rob Bartlett’s Ruthless Spectator Comedy Troupe and a founding member of the Ruthless Women Improv Group. Michelle was most recently seen on the Seven Angels Theatre stage as her alter-ego, Earlene, in the 7th rendition of the Christmas show, Christmas Eve at Earlene’s Diner, based on her original character. When not acting on the Seven Angels Theatre stage, working as a motivational speaker/humorist or emcee for local and regional events or working as an Audiologist at a local otolaryngology office (one must pay the bills), Michelle enjoys her hobby as a dust bunny breeder.
