About the Event
Are you curious about the origins of Salisbury's unusual street and place names, such as Indian Cave, the Lock Up, Lincoln City, Belgo, Old Asylum, Joyceville, Tory Hill, Race Track Road? For the month of March, the Scoville Library will display the Salisbury Historical Society’s “What’s in a Name?” exhibit. Come stroll through Salisbury’s past and learn the surprising stories of familiar place names. While you’re at it, browse SML’s local history and local authors collections in the Oak Room.
SML thanks the Historical Society and the Salisbury Association for the loan of this exhibition.
