About the Event
Band Day is a time-honored Williston tradition that showcases the talents of local and regional marching bands. This cherished annual event brings together people of all ages for a day filled with music, a vibrant parade, food, and fun!
Band Day, which dates back to the 1920's, is traditionally held the Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend.
Time: Vendors at Harmon Park open 10AM-5PM, Parade starts at 12PM noon

For nearly a century, Band Day has been the hallmark of Williston, North Dakota's community pride. What began as a local parade has blossomed into a regional event, drawing participants and spectators from North Dakota, Montana, and beyond. Whether you're a music enthusiast or simply looking for a fun way to spend the day, Band Day is an event you don't want to miss!
Band Day Parade
The highlight of Band Day is the grand parade featuring marching bands, creative floats, classic cars, & more!
The parade begins at Williston State College on 18th St and University, goes west to 2nd Ave W, then south to Harmon Park on 11th St W.
The parade starts at 12PM noon and typically lasts an hour and a half to two hours.
Beyond the Parade
Band Day is more than just a parade - it's a full day of family-friendly fun! Enjoy live musical performances, grab lunch or a sweet treat, and shop local craft vendors in Harmon Park from 10AM-5PM.
Bring the family or get your friends together and kick off the day with a fun run. The Band Day Mile is the parade route in reverse. The race starts at 11:15 in the SE corner of Harmon Park (near the skate park), goes west on 11th St to 2nd Ave W, then north to 18th St, and finishes at the Williston State College intersection of 18th St E and University.
