6:00 pm: Closing Night: Lazaro's Daughter / La hija de Lazaro
The premiere of the Costa Rican film Lazaro's Daughter (La Hija de Lazaro) will serve as the closing event for the Seattle Latino Film Festival, marking the culmination of a week celebrating Latin American cinema. Synopsis: In this surreal film featuring first-time actors, a hot-headed taxi driver and henchman in Medellin is tasked with repairing his boss's AC at five in the morning. After a long, sleepless night, his determination is tested through a series of trials and tribulations the city throws his way, causing him to question his work, himself, and his role in society.
Sinopsis: En esta pelicula surrealista protagonizada por actores debutantes, un temperamental taxista y secuaz en Medellin recibe la tarea de reparar el aire acondicionado de su jefe a las cinco de la manana. Tras una larga noche sin dormir, su determinacion se pone a prueba mediante una serie de desafios y tribulaciones que la ciudad le presenta, lo que lo lleva a cuestionar su trabajo, a si mismo y su papel en la sociedad.

During the investigation, she faces a series of obstacles that prevent her from proceeding as she had hoped.
Sinopsis: Ana Casasola, una periodista, esta investigando un atentado terrorista que ocurrio hace 40 anos en la frontera entre Costa Rica y Nicaragua, en el cual su padre, quien tambien era comunicador, fue asesinado. Durante la investigacion, se enfrenta a una serie de obstaculos que le impiden continuar como le hubiera gustado.
