Mary Kingsley traveled to Africa in the 1890s intending never to return. The English ethnographer fell in love with the continent and its people, challenging European misconceptions. She lived among local tribes, opposed colonial oppression and wrote groundbreaking accounts that helped to reshaped how Africa was perceived.
Carol Chapman, a Wyoming-based writer and speaker who brings to life the stories of remarkable women from history, will present this interactive lecture.
