About the Event
AARP Connecticut is collaborating with the CT Department of Aging & Disability Services to present a monthly series aimed at helping professionals at organizations serving a diverse public gain skills to make digital communication accessible to all. The sessions will be led by Dr. Lauren Tucker, an assistant professor at Southern Connecticut State University with expertise in assistive technology, universal design for learning, and technology implementation. The goal is to promote innovative thinking on how you can facilitate in-person, virtual or hybrid offerings.
This special two-hour session will focus on supporting individuals in navigating the digital space, with the goal of increasing their ability to become more socially integrated through the use of technology. Learning about your devices paired with other adaptive, supportive technology can provide you with an understanding of what you may need to do to improve accessibility and adaptivity for you and those you support.
