The first class in our virtual soft chalk pastel series will focus on supplies and basic techniques such as layering colors.
About the Event
Learn how to use soft chalk pastels in this virtual workshop while connecting to a vibrant, creative community. This is a fast-working medium, and most projects can be completed in just a few hours or less. You will learn different strokes, how to blend and when not to, and how to capture light. We will do florals, landscapes and still life. You’ll also learn how to preserve and frame your work.
In Session 1: Let’s Get Started, you’ll:
- Become familiar with the supplies needed and start the techniques of layering
- Learn the basics of painting what you see, composition and placement of subject matter
- Start a simple still life and learn how to layer colors to get bright, clear tones
Here is a list of recommended supplies, although you are welcome to join the class if you are unable to obtain them all. This list will also be sent in your confirmation and reminder emails.
