All you need are five basic cooking skills for a good answer to the most important question of the day, “What’s for dinner?” With these five cooking skills, you can put dinner on the table with what you have on hand. Save time, money, and prepare meals that will make your tastebuds dance a jig. Each session is standalone and you don’t have to attend prior sessions to register for an upcoming session.
1. Elevate Your Cooking Game: Learn the inside tips needed to make meals with what's on hand. You don’t need to be a chef or have a lot of fancy kitchen equipment to make this a reality.
2. Skill 1: Knock Out The Chop: What’s the number one skill you need in the kitchen? Knife skills! You can’t hit a home run by swinging a golf club and you can’t knit a sock with a twig. You need the proper equipment. In the kitchen, your chef’s knife is your single most important tool. In this session you’ll learn the proper hold, how to keep your knife sharp, the proper cutting motion, and the proper technique for cutting a variety of essential vegetables and fruits.
3. Skill 2: Pan-Searing: Next to knife skills, you next best friend in the kitchen is pan-searing. Learn this technique to create restaurant quality meals in record time that won’t break the bank.
4. Skill 3: Sauté: Never again serve up soggy, tasteless vegetables! With this important cooking technique, you'll transform your cooking and rekindle your love affair with vegetables.
5. Skill 4: Soup-Making: Man has been making soup since discovering how to boil water. And nothing is more satisfying than a handful of ingredients that turn into a beautiful and tasty liquid form. Sweep away the mystery and mystique of soup-making so that you can assemble a variety of soups in a flash.
6. Skill 5: Salad-Making: Never eat a boring salad again and learn to make salad dressing from scratch. All salads can be sexy and enticing, even for a quick meal. The trick is appreciating the diversity of what a salad can be, thinking outside the greens box, and learning how to make your own salad.
