Join us for a spring bird walk at Wheeler Nature Park in South Burlington.
About the Event
Join AARP Vermont and Audubon Vermont for a spring bird walk around the trails of Wheeler Nature Park in South Burlington, VT! This park holds special significance for Audubon as their conservation biologist has worked with the City of South Burlington's Recreation and Parks department and US Department of Fish and Wildlife on a project that will improve the habitat for birds.
Wheeler Nature Park has 140 acres of undeveloped birding opportunities, from big open shrubland to forest and meadow to explore. We will enjoy views of the Green Mountains as we move at a casual pace to look and listen for birds. Birds should be plentiful this time of year and 155 total species have been recorded in the Park, so there will be something for both beginners and more advanced birders alike. NOTE The trail surface is natural, over hard-packed earth and may be uneven, have roots, and might be muddy this time of year.

Parking will be at the Wheeler Nature Park Trail Head located at 1715-1797 Swift St, South Burlington, VT 05403 (at the intersection of Swift and Dorset).
