Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General will be sharing key information about scams and fraud targeting Virginians in 2025 and will outline resources available to help.
Scammers use sophisticated tactics to attack Virginia residents in all kinds of ways. The internet allows criminals to carry out a wide array of theft and imposter scams now empowered by Artificial Intelligence. No one is immune to receiving phone calls, email, texts, and in-person confrontations with criminals intent to steal both money and data. AARP recognizes that knowledge is a powerful tool - allowing individuals the opportunity to more clearly assess between legitimate requests and well-crafted forgeries. Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General will be sharing key information about scams and fraud targeting Virginians in 2025. We will also spend time outlining resources within Virginia helping people both protect against and report fraud effectively.
