Join AARP at the MIM for a free program that is designed for persons with cognitive impairment including stages of memory loss and dementia. Each session includes a 45-minute gallery tour led by a MIM museum guide and a 45-minute music-making session facilitated by a certified music therapist.
Guests explore a variety of cultures through instruments and music. In each session, participants interact, share stories, and have a multisensory musical experience. Care partners are invited and encouraged to attend with participants.
A recent participant shared with us "her heart rate was close to 110 bpm arriving and when leaving was 72 bpm. She was so happy that the music was therapeutic and was helping her well being."
There is limited space per session, register now to attend and take part in this beneficial program.
