This program is designed for people with cognitive impairment including stages of memory loss and dementia. Each session includes a 45-minute gallery tour led by a MIM museum guide and a 45-minute music-making session facilitated by Frank Thompson. A break is included between activities. The tour of the gallery starts at 1pm.
Program participants explore a variety of world cultures through musical instruments and music. In each session, they will interact with fellow guests, share stories, and have a multisensory musical experience. Care partners are invited and encouraged to attend as well. Guests will be able to trace cultural roots and traditions and have an opportunity to explore galleries independently following the program.
