This session will explore the critical relationship between mental health and dementia in older adults. We will delve into how conditions like depression, anxiety and stress can influence the onset and progression of dementia.
Learn about the challenges in differentiating symptoms, and the importance of a comprehensive evaluation in making accurate diagnoses. We will also highlight strategies for improving the well-being of older adults by addressing mental health concerns and offering early intervention techniques, fostering a holistic approach to dementia care.
This class for family caregivers, offered in collaboration with AARP Virginia and Insight Memory Care Center, will be held both virtually and in-person in Fairfax, Virginia. Those attending virtually will be able to ask questions via the chat feature.
