Join AARP Virginia for a guided tour of the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial. The memorial commemorates the millions of women who engaged in the suffragist movement primarily from 1848 through the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920 that allowed most women to vote. This memorial is both a visual symbol and an educational tool that elevates them to their proper place in history.
The tour will be conducted rain or shine, so please check the weather before your departure and dress accordingly. Parking is available next to the memorial with easy access to wheelchairs.
Upon completion of the tour, participants are invited to partake in lunch together. Bring your own lunch or purchase a meal at the Brickmakers Café located from across the memorial. Indoor and outdoor tables are available with a great view of the Occoquan River.
