Join New York Adventure Club to explore the history of American holiday decorations and traditions. Highlights: the White House Christmas trees and department store windows.
About the Event
While the holiday season has always been filled with festivities and traditions, a lot has changed over the past 250 years when it comes to decorations. Join New York Adventure Club and architectural historian David V. Griffin for a virtual trip across America to explore brilliant holiday displays and traditions in large and small communities alike.
We’ll showcase the history of the White House Christmas trees, the rise of department store decorations, including the great Fifth Avenue holiday windows, famed displays of historic homes and hotels and neighborhood lights. Afterward, we'll have a Q&A with David, and all questions are welcome!
Can't attend? Don't worry, you'll have access to the replay for one week after the event concludes.
