Our healthy cooking series this month features recipes for Native American staples: bison meatballs and wild rice with root vegetables.
About the Event
Bison, wild rice and root vegetables have long nourished the body, spirit and culture of Native American tribes. This November, we honor these lasting traditions as Chef Mary Weaver brings our Cooking Around the World series to North America with Bison Meatballs and Wild Rice with Root Vegetables.
Bison is a leaner, nutrient-rich alternative for ground beef in these quick and easy meatballs, served as a tasty entrée or appetizer—and it’s packed with protein, iron and essential vitamins.
Wild rice and root vegetables remain deeply significant in Native communities today. From ceremonial harvests to everyday meals, they strengthen social bonds and connect younger generations to their ancestral heritage.
Join us in celebrating the flavors and stories that continue to shape Native American culture. Recipes will be emailed in advance so you’ll be ready to cook along.
