Please join us for a two-day, interactive learning opportunity on the techniques recommended in Enabling Better Places: Zoning for Great Neighborhoods. This how-to manual that promotes practical, small steps that Vermont’s cities, towns and villages can take to address widespread regulatory barriers that limit the choice of homes available to Vermont residents at prices people can afford. This guide and training are part of the Congress of the New Urbanism’s (CNU) Project for Code Reform, a strategic initiative to support cities and towns as they reform outdated zoning bylaws in favor of more walkable communities.

Training Schedule
Pre-recorded Introductory Lessons: Each video will feature approximately 10 minutes of training, grounding you in the fundamentals of the incremental bylaw reform methodology and underlying Enabling Better Places: Zoning for Great Neighborhoods
January 26th, 1:00 – 2:00 PM: This session will provide an overview and review of specific challenges and opportunities that have been identified in Vermont. The format of the session will provide a question and answer dialogue, in order to answer common questions and provide shared learning.
January 28th, 1:00 – 2:30 PM: This session is a deep-dive lecture with participatory discussion building upon day one’s training, with a focus on providing direct feedback to participants on how to take action on incremental bylaw reform in your community.
